Episode 6- Young Social Innovators is an organisation that empowers and encourages young people to come up with innovative solutions to challenges presented in their community in hope for changing their world for the better.

Coláiste Gleann Lí students were responsible for three projects which they discussed on their day out in Castleisland as well as meeting other students and finding out about their projects.

Students identified that since COVID, them and their peers have not engaged in as much physical activity as they would have hoped and therefore was born the idea of a school sports day which took place last Wednesday the 17h of May and was a huge success. On the theme of promoting health and well being , students also created a 'wellbeing wall' which was a space for students to decorate with positive slogans, health facts and affirmations.

Lastly, students decided to conduct a road safety initiative where they examined the area outside of our school which consists of four education centers and has no sign to display this information and as such can potentially be dangerous to pedestrians and students. The YSI students contacted the local authority, council members and conducted speed surveys with the help of An Taisce. The local council are going to complete a larger survey of the area as a result. Well done to all our students involved and a special thank you to Ms. Egan, Ms. Collins & Mr. Creagh for all their help.

Episode 7- The countdown is on! Our third -year students Kaitlyn and Abigail discuss their impending Junior Cycle exams and provide excellent insights, reflection from their pre-examinations and tips on how to study. We hope that any student listening will find some useful advice and comfort from this episode.

Best of luck to all students completing their state exams this summer.
