Introducing our Home School Community Liaison Co-ordinator
Dear parents/guardians, my name is Sandra Long and I am the ‘Home School Community Liaison Coordinator’ (HSCL Coordinator). My role in Coláiste Gleann Lí is to support you as parents/guardians to help your child get the most out of his/her education. I will support and work with parents to strengthen the link between home, school and community. I will be encouraging parents to feel part of the school community as an essential partner in the education of their children.
Please feel free to contact me if you need my support. You can reach me on 0860787967 or via email on s.long@gleannli.ie
What does a HSCL Coordinator (HSCL) do?
The HSCL works in partnership with parents, teachers and local community organisations to support positive educational outcomes for pupils/students. The HSCL also works closely with the other two strands of TESS, Educational Welfare Officers (EWO) and personnel from the School Completion Programme to improve educational outcomes for children. As part of their work, the HSCL will meet parents during home visits, at courses for parents in the school and at other school and community events. Please feel free to contact the HSCL Sandra Long for advice, information or support.
